I don't really get why Zem was so emotional over Nalgava's death, maybe I am overlooking something, but it's not like they had much interaction and he's aware of how messed up his way of finding the cure were, it just felt excessive and didn't sit right with me.

I was interested in seeing the union between Zem and Nick, it took so long for it to happen but it was pretty underwhelming compared to Tiana and Curran's unions. It would have been great if there was some kind of healing move to help Curran and Tiana or for Zem's influence to be more prominent since Nick's thing is his speed but I guess the air jumps were something Zem was causing? I have no idea.

I also thought the reason for Nalgava's daughter's death was going to be a lot darker when it was said that the yellow fever was an STD thank goodness the true reason was not that messed up, but it is still messed up how people were enjoying spreading rumors like that about a child.

He's grown attached to him basically because of the rumors around the Yellow demon sickness being s*xually transmitted. Remember Zem being in jail and life treatened because of a b*tch (can't say other things about her), who lied to everyone being r*ped by him. (Really want them to put her in screen time to pay for that one day like they did for Nick and Claudine)

He found someone that went to something similar so he was touched and sad to lose him as a fellow priest. Also i think he wanted to save him from his bad self which is why he didn't want him to die.

Just my guess around what's told in this episode.

Seriously those back stories in this anime are pretty messed up and disgusting. I don't like either rose color candy stories but well... I don't understand how this can be seen by teenagers and other animes parts that are less despicable being censored.

I somewhat enjoy the sadder vibe. it gives me some catharsis. I started watching this anime at a point when bad things happened in my life, and it has been good to just breath it out with this anime. I can't help but tear up every time I listen to the Ed because of that, too. It's poignant and hopeful at the same time. Makes me want to ride the pain to better times.

Everyone finds it's joy in animes, that's what's good about them. If this one helps you with your feelings that's a big thanks to the author.
